MOSCOW, 5 July (BelTA) – Belarus and Iraq want to bolster trade and economic cooperation. The statement was made at the meeting of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Igor Petrishenko and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iraq to Russia Haidar Mansour Hadi in Moscow on 5 July, BelTA has learned.
“The sides discussed the enhancement of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, interaction in the manufacturing sector, agriculture, education, healthcare,” the press release of the press service reads. “Special attention was drawn to the expansion of the legal framework of bilateral relations.”
Diplomatic relations between Belarus and Iraq were established on 26 December 1996. The bilateral trade made up $39.7 million in 2016.
