MINSK, 15 November (BelTA) – Belarus invites Egypt to develop industrial cooperation and interact in the area of innovation, including the production of drones, Chairman of the House of Representatives Vladimir Andreichenko said at a meeting with the parliamentary delegation of Egypt on 15 November, BelTA has learned.
According to Vladimir Andreichenko, Belarus is ready to cooperate with Egypt in the area of innovation. “Joint production of air drones is considered a very promising area,” the chairman of the House of Representatives said.
Belarus is interested in the development of industrial cooperation and setting up an assembly plant in Egypt. Vladimir Andreichenko said that Belarus is also ready to organize training courses for Egyptian specialists, and provide after-sales service. Negotiations on setting up an assembly plant are carried out with Egyptian partners by the Minsk Motor Plant. The speaker expressed confidence that the products of the future joint enterprise will make a worthy competition to foreign analogues.
Vladimir Andreichenko named agriculture, IT, healthcare and education among other promising areas of cooperation.
In January-September 2018 the Belarusian-Egyptian trade reached $79 million, which was up by 26% as against the same period a year prior.
The Egyptian delegation is headed by Speaker of the House of Representatives Ali Abdel Aal Sayyed. The National Assembly of Belarus and the House of Representatives to Egypt signed an agreement on cooperation on 15 November. Belarus hopes that the parliamentary interaction between the two countries will gain momentum.
