MINSK, 18 June (BelTA) – Belarus invites Egypt to establish a more active transfer of knowledge in healthcare, engineering sector, IT and many other areas, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich said at a joint meeting between the leadership of the Belarusian parliament with Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on 18 June, BelTA has learned.
Mikhail Myasnikoich believes that Belarus and Egypt need to step up cooperation in science and education. “We could cooperate more actively in the transfer of the Belarusian knowledge and experience in healthcare, engineering sector, IT and many other areas,” he said. “Student and scientific exchanges can be useful for our countries. We can also take a look into more active attraction of young people from Egypt for receiving education in Belarusian universities,” Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
The speaker suggested setting up joint companies, including in IT and cyber security.
Egypt President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said that Egypt looks to cooperation with Belarus in science and education. The Egyptian president supported Mikhail Myasnikovich’s idea to bolster ties in cyber security, transfer of knowledge, and suggested compiling a joint action plan on the transfer of technology. The parties also discussed cooperation in culture and tourism.
