ISLAMABAD, 26 May (BelTA) – Pakistan invites Belarus to invest in the energy industry and the petrochemical industry. The statement was made by Mian Muhammad Adrees, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry, during the business meeting between representatives of Belarusian and Pakistani business circles on 26 May, BelTA has learned.

“Pakistan is very friendly towards private sector,” noted Mian Muhammad Adrees. “Pakistan offers a very honest system for foreign investments. In Pakistan there is inexpensive workforce, hardworking people, soft taxes, and no restrictions.”

The President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry said that the China president had visited the country a short time before and contracts worth $46 billion were signed during the visit. “Those are the largest investments in Pakistan on record,” said Mian Muhammad Adrees. “China invests huge resources in Pakistan’s infrastructure. It will contribute to the development of various projects, including the most important ones in the petrochemical industry and the textile industry.”

“We invite you to invest in Pakistan,” stressed Mian Muhammad Adrees. “Pakistan is located in the center of Asia, at a junction of all trade and investment ways. It is a growing market fit for investments.”

Speaking about bilateral cooperation, the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry pointed out the low level of trade, which was slightly less than $60 million in 2014. In his opinion, Belarus-Pakistan trade can be raised by setting up joint ventures, in particular, petrochemical enterprises and enterprises to assemble machines.

“We see great opportunities for trade between countries,” stressed Mian Muhammad Adrees.

Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mikhail Myatlikov invited his Pakistani counterpart to lead a business delegation on a visit to Belarus in order to get familiar with the country’s opportunities. He also supported the Pakistani proposal to arrange expos in both countries. He remarked that Belarus is already considering taking part in an international expo in Pakistan.
