MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – Belarus invested about $50 million in the Austrian economy in January-September, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Alena Kupchyna said at the opening of the business matchmaking session between the businessmen of Belarus and Austria on 23 November, BelTA has learned.
“Traditionally, Austria is one of Belarus’ biggest investors. But it is worth saying that Belarus is also doing a lot. Belarus invested about $50 million in the Austrian economy in January-September. This amount included $1.5 million worth of direct investments,” Alena Kupchyna said. She emphasized that Belarus is doing its best to improve the business climate.
Alena Kupchyna stated that the political dialogue between the countries is vigorously developing. “We are grateful to Austria for the active position in lifting the European Union’s sanctions from Belarus. It opened up new opportunities for our business dialogue. We maintain economic cooperation in an absolutely different atmosphere,” the deputy minister said.
She stressed that Belarus and Austria have a serious potential for boosting trade, economic, and investment cooperation.
