Belarus interested in strategic partnership with China’s ZTE

MINSK, 13 June (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in strategic partnership with China Corporation ZTE, Belarus’ Premier Andrei Kobyakov said as he met with ZTE Executive Vice President Tian Wenguo on 13 June, BelTA informs.

“ZTE was one of the first high-technology companies to become a resident of the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone. We support this idea and expect serious results from cooperation with your company,” Andrei Kobyakov said.

According to the Prime Minister, the China Corporation ZTEis seen as a sign of China’s support and interest in the implementation of joint projects in the area of high technology. “We are glad to hold direct dialogue with partners from China, the relations with whom are based on a robust foundation of friendship, mutual respect and strategic partnership,” Andrei Kobyakov stressed.

In his words, ZTE keeps strong positions in Belarus. The company’s representation was opened in 2003. Since then, the corporation has been actively working with the leading mobile operators and a number of other Belarusian companies. “Belarus provides comfortable conditions for investors that can make use of preferences and special regimes in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone,” the Premier noted.

Andrei Kobyakov stressed that the information and communication technologies are viewed as one of the priorities in the economic development of Belarus. “We are aiming at strategic partnership. Belarus has a well-developed scientific and production basis, highly-qualified workforce, a powerful commodity distribution network and strong ties in the post-Soviet space. ZTE gets access to the markets of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the CIS. Uniting our potentials, we will get an efficient model of mutually beneficial cooperation,” he stressed.

Andrei Kobyakov believes that joint manufacturing facilities, research and innovation organizations can be one of the most efficient areas of cooperation. “We are ready to discuss your proposals on innovative projects in Belarus, the company’s plans in the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park Great Stone, possible areas for Chinese credit resources,” he said.

In turn, Tian Wenguo thanked the Belarusian side for many-year support of the company. In his words, Belarus and China enjoy friendly relations. “ZTE pays great attention to its activity on the Belarusian market. We have big plans and Belarus provides good environment for their implementation,” he added.
