Belarus interested in resuming vehicle assembly in Venezuela

Belarus interested in resuming vehicle assembly in Venezuela

MINSK, 28 November (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in resuming the operation of vehicle assembly enterprises in Venezuela as fast as possible. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Piotr Parkhomchik mentioned it during a plenary session of the Belarus-Venezuela trade and economic cooperation commission, BelTA has learned.

Piotr Parkhomchik said: “At present one of the most important topics of bilateral cooperation is the resumption of operation of factories that assemble tractors and trucks in Venezuela. I am convinced that Venezuelan agrarians, transport workers, public utilities, and professionals of many other branches of the Venezuelan economy look forward to receiving these products. I can assure you that Belarus is also interested in resuming the operation of MAZ-VEN and Veneminsk Tractores assembly enterprises in Venezuela as fast as possible. However, the projects should be economically expedient and effective, profitable for both sides.”

In his words, it is also very important to find an opportunity for resuming the realization of civil engineering projects taking into account the fact that the construction of affordable homes for Venezuelan citizens is a priority of the country’s social policy.

The deputy prime minister went on saying: “We observe how Venezuela’s agriculture and food industry develop. Belarus with its experience, knowledge, technologies, and competences could become an indispensable helper for Venezuelans in this field. We are ready to continue cooperation in the field of agriculture and agribusiness and to discuss joint projects, including mutual deliveries of foods.”

Apart from that, Belarus is ready to consider the possibility of resuming deliveries of potash fertilizers and other fertilizers to Venezuela to meet needs of Venezuela’s agriculture and of neighboring countries in the region. Belarus is ready to discuss cooperation options in petrochemical industry.
