MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – Belarus is interested in Chinese investments into its mining industry, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Andrei Khudyk and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China Yuri Senko exchanged views on promising areas of Belarus-China cooperation in environmental protection and sustainable (rational) use of natural resources. According to the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, Andrei Khudyk showed interest in Chinese best practices and technologies in this area, and also considered implementing these solutions in Belarus.
In addition, the parties discussed possibilities to raise Asian investments to advance Belarus’ mining industry and develop a number of deposits. The parties also assessed the environmental dimension of China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the approaches of the participating countries to green production, as well as building a green and low-carbon economy.
