MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ Industry Ministry is interested in bolstering trade and industrial ties with Turkey, Belarus’ Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk said as he met with Turkey’s Minister of Science, Industry and Technology Faruk Ozlu, BelTA has learned.
“The Belarusian Industry Ministry sees Turkey as a promising partner with a big market. Our countries have a great potential for cooperation. We are ready to develop cooperation in all areas that fall within the competence of the industry ministries. These include instrument engineering, machine tools, metallurgy, opto-mechanical and electro-technical industries, and many others,” Vitaly Vovk noted.
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of expanding industrial cooperation, boosting trade, and promoting cooperation in the fields of agriculture, information technology and air transport. The ministers agreed to intensify joint work on the supply of heavy dump trucks, tractors and utility vehicles.
In January-October 2017 the trade between the Industry Ministry enterprises of Belarus and Turkey increased by 2.5 times over the same period of last year to exceed $37.5 million. Belarus had a trade surplus of about $20 million.
