MINSK, 18 April (BelTA) – Belarus' industrial output stood at Br26.3 billion in Q1 2018 in current prices or 109.4% in comparable prices as against January-March 2017, BelTA learned from the National Statistics Committee of Belarus.
Belarus’ mining industry expanded by 3.8%. The processing industry reported an 3.8% increase. The supply of electricity, natural gas, steam, hot water, and conditioned air went up by 7.5%. The industrial output growth rate in water supply, collection, processing and treatment of waste, clean-up activities totaled 100.8%.
In March 2018 the industrial output index totaled 107.6% as against March 2017, 108.2% as against February 2018.
The volume of industrial output in 12 out of 13 branches of the processing industry exceeded the figures registered in January-March 2017. The highest growth was registered in the production of machines and equipment not elsewhere classified (up by 22.9%), manufacturing of coke and oil (up 20.1%), manufacturing of pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparation (up by16.2%), manufacturing of transport facilities and equipment (up by 13.4%), manufacturing of wooden products and paper, printing, and copying of recorded media (up by 12.9%).
