MINSK, 13 February (BelTA) – The Belarusian Forestry Ministry has presented hunting tourism opportunities at the international exhibition JAGD & HUND 2018 in Dortmund (Germany), BelTA learned from the ministry’s press service.
The Forestry Ministry displayed the tourist opportunities of its wildlife hunting ranges. Belarusian specialists had working meetings with heads of tourism companies from Germany, Bulgaria, Russia, Poland, Sweden, France, Italy, England, and also with German hunters. As a result of negotiations, the Belarusians signed several long-term cooperation agreements with German tour operators. Some other deals were sealed to organize a bison hunt with the help of the state-run Belgosokhota company, and arrange hunting tours of the state-owned forestries in Pruzhany and Vileika in autumn 2018.
Bison, moose, wood grouse, and wolf hunts in Belarus were in great demand at the exhibition. The most attractive offers for European hunters were tours in Grodno Oblast.
The Forestry Ministry is working hard to attract foreign hunters by commissioning modern hunting ranges, reconstructing the existing facilities, and expanding the list of services. These measures bear fruit: in 2017 foreign hunters generated some 25% of the income of the hunting farms affiliated with the Forestry Ministry.
