MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Hungary Vladimir Ulakhovich held meetings with representatives of Hungarian companies and business associations, including co-chairman of the Eastern Europe business club Gyorgy Gilyan on 19-22 April, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission.
The parties discussed issues and prospects of bilateral trade and economic cooperation. They discussed possibilities for cooperation and joint Belarusian-Hungarian events.
Hungary is traditionally one of the top 30 leading trade partners of Belarus. In 2021, the mutual trade reached $231.5 million, up 25% since 2017. Exports reached $89.8 million, up 26% over the five years. Exports includes more than 170 commodity items. The most important of them are products of mechanical engineering, woodworking and metallurgy. Imports comprise engineering products, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, and agricultural products.
