MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) – Consul General of Belarus to Hong Kong Tatiana Kharlap met with John Lee Ka-chiu, head of the administration of China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, on 16 December, BelTA has learned.
Tatiana Kharlap and John Lee Ka-chiu discussed prospects of stepping up cooperation in trade, economy, banking, finance, tourism, humanitarian affairs as well as the development of the bilateral legal base. Exchange of visits was discussed. The sides reaffirmed mutual interest in stepping up cooperation.
The consular district includes China’s two special administrative regions – Hong Kong (Xianggang) and Macao (Aomen). Apart from a Belarusian embassy in Beijing in China there are Belarusian consulates general in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and Hong Kong.
Belarus-China diplomatic relations were established on 20 January 1992. 2022 marked 30 years since the diplomatic relations were established.
