MINSK, 2 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) office in the EAEU, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus organized a seminar “Hong Kong: Your gateway to Asian markets”, BelTA informs citing the website of the BelCCI.
Speaking at the seminar were BelCCI Deputy Chairman Denis Meleshkin, Acting Consul General of Belarus in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China Aleksandr Shalimov, Head of the HKTDC office in the EAEU, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova and Ukraine, Executive Director of the Russia-Hong Kong Business Cooperation Association Leonid Orlov.
More than 90 representatives of Belarusian enterprises took part in the event that was held at the BelCCI via videoconference. These companies sought to explore possibilities to enter the markets of China and other East Asian countries through Hong Kong.
The seminar focused on prospects of cooperation with Hong Kong business community, the use of Hong Kong as a global logistics hub, a center of technology and innovation, an effective platform for start-ups. It also discussed mechanisms to support the export of Belarusian goods to the markets of China and Asian countries, the search for potential partners and development of business contacts.
At the end of the presentations, representatives of Belarusian companies had the opportunity to ask questions about how to establish and expand business contacts with companies from Hong Kong.
