MINSK, 19 August (BelTA) – Belarus has so far harvested more than 6 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 19 August, Belarusian farmers harvested more than 1.9 million hectares of grain, which makes 89.2% of the cropping areas. The average yield is 31.6 centners per hectare (26.5 centners per hectare in 2018).
Minsk Oblast harvested 92.5% of its areas, producing more than 1.588 million tonnes of grain. Brest Oblast’s harvest is 99.2% complete (almost 1.2 million tonnes). Grodno Oblast harvested 97% of its areas (over 1.16 tonnes of grain).
Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 88.5% complete (626,200 tonnes).
Mogilev Oblast harvested 85.8% of its areas, making 684,200 tonnes. Vitebsk Oblast has cut 71.1% of its areas planted to grain crops to produce 760,900 tonnes of grain.
The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The order is 84.8% (691,400 tonnes) complete.
