MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have cropped over 2 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 30 July, Belarus harvested 713,700 hectares planted to cereal and leguminous crops, which is 33.4% of the sown area. The country harvested more than 2 million tonnes of grain already, with the average yield of 29 centners per hectare. This year the harvest campaign kicked off earlier than in 2017. As of 30 July 2017, Belarusian agrarians cropped 519,500 tonnes of grain.
Brest Oblast harvested 66.4% of the area, Grodno Oblast – 51.7%. Minsk Oblast harvested 32.7% of its areas, Gomel Oblast - 28.3%. Vitebsk Oblast and Mogilev Oblast cropped 12.29% and 8.18% of the areas respectively.
