MINSK, 6 September (BelTA) – Some 125,600 tonnes of sugar beets have been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 6 September, over 98% of the area under grain and leguminous crops and over 94% of the area under rapeseed was cleared in Belarus.
A total of over 7,066,000 tonnes of grain was cropped. This included 6,095,500 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and over 970,000 tonnes of rapeseed. In addition to that, 13,300 tonnes of buckwheat and 9,190 tonnes of millet were threshed.
The flax straw harvest has exceeded 70,000 tonnes. Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 71.7% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 66,200 tonnes of potatoes have already been removed from fields. The yield is 367.3 centners per hectare.
Some 3,358,500 tonnes of corn for silage have been cropped so far.
Sugar beet harvesting has started in Belarus. Some 125,600 tonnes of sugar beets have already been removed, the yield is 464.3 centners per hectare.
