MINSK, 22 August (BelTA) - Belarusian agrarians have already cropped 7 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learnt from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 22 August, Belarus’ grain harvest exceeded 7 million tonnes. Minsk Oblast harvested 1,772.1 tonnes, Grodno Oblast – 1,271.9 tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1,224.5 tonnes. Mogilev Oblast and Gomel Oblast cropped 1,072.000 and 975,700 tonnes each. The harvest of Vitebsk Oblast reached 723,900 tonnes.
A total of 1,969,600 hectares, or 91.1%, of areas under crops have been harvested in the country. The grain harvest campaign in Brest Oblast is complete.
This year, the average yield makes up 35.7 centners per hectare, with Grodno Oblast leading with 43.5 centners per hectare.
