MINSK, 17 July (BelTA) – Over 1.9 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 17 July, 1.941 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 1.322 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 619,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 530,300 tonnes, Minsk Oblast 465,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 415,700 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 271,100 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 181,500 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 77,300 tonnes. All oblasts, except for Vitebsk Oblast (82.5%), have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 15,100 hectares, which is 33.8% of the area under this crop.
Straw left after harvesting cereals and leguminous crops was removed from 60.8% of the designated area.
A total of 3.160 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (32.2% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 11.1 million tonnes of fertilizers (87.4% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.78 million tonnes (14.1%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
