MINSK, 15 July (BelTA) – A total of 1.597 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been harvested in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 15 July, 1.597 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 1.108 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 489,000 tonnes of winter rapeseed.
The regional breakdown is the following: Brest Oblast harvested 417,000 tonnes, Minsk Oblast 383,000 tonnes, Grodno Oblast 345,400 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 240,500 tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 151,600 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 59,600 tonnes. All oblasts, except for Vitebsk Oblast, have completed harvesting winter barley.
Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 12,700 hectares, which is 28.4% of the area under this crop.
Straw left after harvesting cereals and leguminous crops was removed from 47.8% of the designated area.
A total of 3.109 million tonnes of grass feed was harvested (31.7% of the plan).
Farmers are stepping up efforts to apply organic fertilizers. All in all, 10.9 million tonnes of fertilizers (87.2% of the target) were placed on the fields in the run-up to sowing winter crops, 1.74 million tonnes (13.9%) of fertilizers have already been applied.
