Belarus' grain, rapeseed harvest exceeds 6.6m tonnes

MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) - As of 8 August, over 6.6 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which includes 5.559 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops and 1.053 tonnes of winter rapeseed, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.

The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 1.785 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Brest Oblast 1.489 million tonnes, Grodno Oblast 1.497 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast 697,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast 640,000 tonnes, Vitebsk Oblast 503,000 tonnes.

As to other crops, 87.4% of spring barley, 82.6% of winter rye, 79.8% of wheat, 77.3% of oats, 74.8% of triticale, 59.8% of legumes were harvested.

Harvesting of winter barley and winter rapeseed has been completed.

Meanwhile, flax was pulled from 39,100 hectares, which is 87.3% of the area planted to this crop.
