MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) - Some 7.8 million tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 27 August, 7.8 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed) was harvested, which comprises 6.708 million tonnes of cereals and leguminous crops (97.9% of the area under these crops, with yields at 32.4 centners per hectare) and 1.092 million tonnes of rapeseed (95.5% of the area, with yields at 28.7 centners per hectare).
The regional breakdown is the following: Minsk Oblast harvested 2.120 million tonnes of grain (including rapeseed), Grodno Oblast – 1.757 million tonnes, Brest Oblast – 1.564 million tonnes, Mogilev Oblast – 920,000 tonnes, Gomel Oblast – 735,000 tonnes and Vitebsk Oblast – 702,100 tonnes.
Farmers have also started harvesting silage and green maize, with 1,522 million tonnes (6.7%) cropped so far.
A total of 16,000 tonnes of potatoes (3.4%) and 15,800 tonnes of vegetables (26.6%) have been harvested.
Belarus has harvested 4.26 million tonnes of grasses (43.4% of the target).
Winter rapeseed sowing has been completed.
