MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) – Belarusian farmers have harvested more than 5.7 million tonnes of grain, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 16 August, Belarus harvested more than 1.8 million hectares of grain, which makes 84.7% of the cropping areas, with the average yield of 31.8 centners per hectare (26.7 centners per hectare last year).
Minsk Oblast has harvested 1.5 million tonnes of grain, which its harvest 87% complete. Brest Oblast’s harvest is 98.8% complete (1.2 million tonnes of grain). Grodno Oblast harvested 94.3% of its areas (1.15 million tonnes of grain).
Harvest in Gomel Oblast is 84.2% complete (597,800 tonnes of grain). Mogilev Oblast has harvested 81.6% of its areas, making 644,700 tonnes of grain.
Vitebsk Oblast has cut 62.1% of its areas to produce 673,900 tonnes of grain.
The procurement order on grain is 815,000 tonnes this year. The target is 83.8% (682,800 tonnes) met.
