MINSK, 13 November (BelTA) – The government has approved the draft loan agreement between Belarus and the OPEC Fund for International Development (Public Healthcare Emergency Response Program, Phase I) as a basis for negotiations. Council of Ministers’ Resolution No.638 of 11 November 2020 has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal, BelTA has learned.
The matter concerns an external government loan of $20 million for 18 years from the OPEC Fund to finance activities in the healthcare sector. The loan is to be attracted in 2020-2022.
The Finance Ministry has been authorized to negotiate the draft loan agreement and sign it if everything is agreed within the approved project.
The OPEC Fund for International Development is an international financial institution established in 1976 by the member countries of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
