Belarus gets first $500m tranche of Russian loan

MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarus has received the first tranche of a Russian loan worth $500 million, the press service of the Belarusian Finance Ministry told BelTA.

The source said that according to the Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on providing a state financial loan to the Belarusian government the first tranche of the state financial loan in the amount equal to $0.5 billion was transferred to the account of the Finance Ministry on 30 December.

BelTA reported earlier that the loan agreement was signed on 21 December. Belarus is supposed to get the second tranche worth $0.5 billion in 2021.
