MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) - Belarus and Germany will discuss the cooperation in energy in Berlin on 22 October, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.
On 22 October the Energy Ministry delegation headed by First Deputy Minister Leonid Shenets will take part in the Day of the Belarusian Economy in Berlin. Leonid Shenets will become the moderator of the panel discussion "Germany and Belarus: the state and prospects of cooperation in energy" and will also make a presentation on the development priorities of the Belarusian energy system.
Belenergo Concern and the Renewables Academy AG (RENAC), based in Berlin, Germany,) are set to sign a memorandum of understanding on the same day. According to the draft memorandum, the parties intend to organize trainings for employees of Belenergo organizations, adapt the RENAC training programs to the needs of Belarus, exchange experts and delegations.
The Belarusian-German working group on energy efficiency and renewable energy will have its first session during the Day the Belarusian Economy. It will be attended by specialists of the Belenergo company, representatives of the German Energy Agency (Dena), Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany (BMWi), senior officials of Wilo, Siemens Technology and others.
"The event aims to strengthen the mutually beneficial and long-term cooperation between Belarusian enterprises and foreign companies, promote innovations, attract foreign investment," the press service noted. The participants will discuss topical issues of energy development, energy efficiency, and global experience in the development of renewable energy.
