MINSK, 2 November (BelTA) – In January-September 2017 Belarus’ foreign trade went up by 22.4% from the same period last year to total $45.1 billion, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.
Belarus’ trade with the CIS member states accounted for 61% of the total. The export to the CIS rose 23.1% to $12.8 billion, the import increased by 23.7% to $14.7 billion.
The trade with the EU countries boosted by 22.5%, with the export and import totaling $5.5 billion and $4.8 billion respectively.
Belarus’ major partners in foreign trade are Russia, Ukraine, China, Germany, the UK, Poland, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Turkey, Italy, and Kazakhstan.
Belarus’s main exports include oil products, potash fertilizers, dairy products (cheese and curd, milk and condensed cream, butter, diary paste), trucks, and tractors. Belarus imports crude oil, oil gas and oil products.
