MINSK, 10 October (BelTA) – Belarus’ foreign trade surplus in goods and services amounted to $371 million in September 2023. The export of goods and services was estimated at $4.22 billion, the import at $3.85 billion, BelTA informs citing the statistics posted on the website of the National Bank.
In January-September 2023, the surplus of trade in goods and services amounted to $538 million.
Positive trends were observed in foreign trade in goods. In September 2023, their export grew by 2.4% against the previous month and amounted to $3.5 billion. The imports of goods decreased by 3.1% to $3.4 billion. The balance of foreign trade in goods in September 2023 was positive for the first time since the beginning of the year, amounting to $71 million. In January-September 2023, the trade deficit in goods stood at $1.6 billion.
The trade surplus in services made up $2.1 billion in January-September 2023. In September 2023 the export of services increased by 11.6% against August 2023, while the import of services went down by 2.7%.
Foreign trade in goods and services remained on the growth track. In January-September 2023 the trade rose by 10.8% year-on-year to reach almost $70 billion.
