GOMEL, 21 December (BelTA) – The companies affiliated with the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry exported $15 million worth of baked goods in January-October 2017, Agriculture and Food Minister Leonid Zayats told BelTA as he visited the Gomelkhlebprom bakery.
“In January-October 2017, we supplied 12,000 tonnes of baked goods worth $15 million to 15 states, including Russia, post-Soviet countries, and Israel,” the minister said. He added that the range of products bound for export is constantly growing.
The export of bakery goods to non-CIS countries was made possible thanks to a deep freezing technology which is widely used at Gomelkhlebprom. “We use special containers to deliver fully baked products or the ones yet to be baked. The latter are cooked right then and there. Our major foreign customers are Russia and Israel,” Gomelkhlebprom Director General Natalya Veromeyeva remarked.
The company manufactured Br76 million of products in 2017 to date, she added. The revenue surpassed Br83 million. The average salary in November 2017 stood at Br874. “The enterprise has been showing a stable performance after the upgrade. The profit is larger than the expenses, which gives an opportunity to develop the manufacture. One of the top-priority tasks for 2018 is to maintain a proper salary level,” the executive stated.
