MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) – In January-June 2017 Belarus' export of merchandise and services rose by 19.4% from January-June 2016 to $16.759 billion, BelTA learned from the latest statistics released by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus (NBRB).
Belarus' foreign trade in merchandise and services totaled $33.098 billion, up by 17.4% from January-June 2016. Export amounted to $16.759 billion, up by 19.4%; import rose by 15.3% to $16.339 billion. The surplus of Belarus' foreign trade in goods and services totaled $420.5 million.
Belarus' merchandise trade surged by 19.4% to $27.529 billion. Merchandise export went up by 21% to $13.258 billion, with import up by 17.9% to $14.270 billion. The deficit of Belarus' merchandise trade amounted to $1.012 billion.
In January-June 2017 Belarus' foreign trade in services reached $5.569 billion, up by 8.3% over the same period a year earlier. Export of services reached $3.501 billion, up by 13.8%, with import at $2.068 billion, up by 0.1%. The surplus of Belarus' foreign trade in services totaled $1.433 billion, an increase of 42%.
