MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus and Ecuador should make more effort to develop cooperation in the services sector, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ecuador Igor Poluyan said in an interview with the RTR Belarus TV channel on 26 September, BelTA has learned.
The Ambassador noted that potash fertilizers account for a considerable part of Belarus’ export to Ecuador. Besides, Belarus will start supplying vehicles to Ecuador in the near future. Still, Igor Poluyan believes it is necessary to be realistic. “Belarus is far from Ecuador. Brazil, for example, is much closer as there is no need in crossing the Panama Canal. Services can deliver much more tangible economic benefits,” he stressed.
“For example, the Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft is successfully operating on this market. The company started with the provision of seismic services. At present, the Belarusian company Belzarubezhstroi is working to carry out a contract for technical control over the construction of an extra-high-voltage transmission line that will run across the whole country,” Igor Poluyan pointed out.
Besides, Belarus has vast experience in setting up hi-tech enterprises to share with Ecuador.
