Belarus, Ecuador discuss industrial cooperation prospects

MINSK, 21 May (BelTA) – Belarus and Ecuador are discussing industrial cooperation prospects, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Guryanov said at a solemn meeting at the Friendship House in Minsk on 20 May, BelTA informs.

“Today Belarusian companies are present in a number of Ecuador’s economic sectors, implementing energy and prospecting seismology projects. We are discussing the ways to develop industrial cooperation,” the deputy minister said.

According to Alexander Guryanov, Ecuador’s potential can be maximally increased through active international cooperation, including bilateral contacts with Belarus. The deputy minister noted that the basis of interstate relations had been laid down during Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko’s visits to Quito and the return visit of Ecuadorian leader Rafael Correa Delgado to Minsk. “We are in intensive talks on the issues of mutual interest. The second meeting of the bilateral intergovernmental commission on economic and sci-tech cooperation was held not long ago. We have positive results in the development of practical cooperation,” Alexander Guryanov said.
