MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) – The Economy Research Institute of the Belarusian Economy Ministry has held a round-table session to discuss the development of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship in the mid-term perspective, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.
The event was held in the format of a foresight session. Taking part in the session were heads of leading business associations, representatives of think tanks, independent analysts and experts, as well as researchers.
The participants were divided into three groups who discussed ten economic trends. “The foresight session resulted in drafting the so-called ‘map of the future’. It contains probable and unlikely scenarios for businesses for the period until 2025. The map also identifies various ways to achieve desirable results, as well as factors influencing a particular event,” said the press service.
The ‘map of the future’ is expected to be used as a roadmap of successive actions to create favorable conditions for small and medium-sized businesses in Belarus taking into account the projected risks and probable deterrents.
These measures are to make part of the program documents of the five-year plan, including the state program “Small and Medium-Sized Business in Belarus” in 2020-2025.
