MOSCOW, 10 October (BelTA) - Belarus is interested in expanding its participation in social gas infrastructure development projects of Russian regions, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich said at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum, BelTA has learned.
Viktor Karankevich noted that Belarusian specialists have accumulated extensive experience in implementing relevant projects, including with the use of modern equipment and technologies. “This is why Belarusian organizations are interested in expanding cooperation with Russian partners in terms of social projects to extend gas supply networks in the Russian Federation,” he said.
The Belarusian official noted that the first steps in this direction had already been taken. “A Belarusian organization participated in the construction of distribution gas pipelines in three districts of Smolensk Oblast. This work was done in 2023 and continues in 2024,” Viktor Karankevich said.
“We are interested in expanding cooperation with other regions of Russia, in particular with Leningrad Oblast. I am sure we have good prospects within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation,” he concluded.
