MOGILEV, 15 February (BelTA) – The Domostroenie branch of the Shklov-based Newsprint Mill plans to export 650 wooden houses to France in the next five years, Pavel Marinenko, Deputy Chairman of the Economy Committee of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, noted at the third Belarusian-French business forum on 15 February, BelTA has learned.
Domostroenie started negotiations on cooperation with French construction companies several years ago. It was only in 2016 that the Shklov company got the first orders to manufacture wood frame panel houses. In November 2017, a groundbreaking ceremony took place in a future residential area of Belarusian wooden houses in the town of Villerupt, Lorraine (France). This project will be completed in 2018. Domostroenie sealed a deal to build and deliver 26 houses with 37 apartments.
“Our houses are in demand in France. When delivered to the customer, they are almost ready to use. They boast good thermal properties, and their installation and construction works take up to three months. Our French customers commend the high quality of our products and their competitive price,” Deputy Director for Construction at Domostroenie Aleksei Molchanov noted.
All the key elements of the wood frame panel houses are made at the plant. This is why the installation is the only thing left to do after the delivery. Such houses can be built at any time of the year. The interior and exterior decoration works can be carried out right after the installation. “Our houses are very durable. They are built only from natural wood, which makes them eco-friendly. We also use flexible frame structures to make them earthquake-resistant and damage-proof,” the specialist underlined.
In his words, Domostroenie plans to build and deliver to France five houses by the end of February and another 7-8 houses in March. To continue cooperation with Lorraine and French construction companies, today Domostroenie will hold negotiations on the further expansion of exports of Belarusian houses to France during the business forum. “In general, the program to build houses in this French region alone envisages the construction of 650 units from wooden framing materials in the next five years,” Aleksei Molchanov said.
Founded in 2005 as a branch of the Shklov-based Newsprint Mill, Domostroenie designs, manufactures, and builds wooden houses under individual and typical projects. The company also produces floorboards, wall panels, blockhouses, faux log siding, timber, and laminated veneer lumber with a length of up to 18m.
