MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) – Belarus’ national strategy for sustainable social and economic development through 2030 has been finalized to take into account global innovative trends, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian government after a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers hosted by Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov on 2 May.
According to Andrei Kobyakov, the Economy Ministry has submitted to the government Belarus’ national development strategy, finalized taking into account the global innovative and technological trends, and also strategic cooperation plans with other states, including the People’s Republic of China. “The most significant adjustments were introduced to the articles on sci-tech and innovative development, improvement of the transport system, and development of the high technology area,” the press service said.
The Presidium of the Council of Ministers also took a look at the activity of the Belarusian national postal service Belpochta and its development concept through 2017-2020. The Premier outlined the major areas of development which the company should focus on with a view to optimize the costs, diversify and increase the profit. “It is clear that one of the company’s major development areas will be the e-commerce segment both at the basis of its internet store and in the area of cross-border commerce. Some needs of the e-commerce market are of primary importance for clients. They include an easy-to-use portfolio of services, delivery speed, safety, fair prices, reliable and flexible methods of payment. All of it should be implemented in full,” Andrei Kobyakov stressed.
The prime minister stressed as important the development of a system of state electronic services at the basis of Belpochta extensive infrastructure which includes more than 3,000 post offices.
