MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – Belarus has debuted at the St. Michael International Agricultural Fair running in Lleida, Spain on 26-29 September, BelTA has learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Spain.
The participation of Belarusian enterprises in the event has been organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Spain, Honorary Consul of Belarus in Barcelona Cristian Balcells, and Minskexpo exhibition company. The Belarusian exposition has already hosted some dignitaries, including Vice Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Fernando Miranda Sotillos of Spain, Belarus' Ambassador to Spain, Belarus' Permanent Representative to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Pavel Pustovoi and others.
Pavel Pustovoi and Fernando Miranda Sotillos reviewed the Belarus-Spain cooperation, and discussed arranging ministerial meetings on the sidelines of the upcoming Global Forum for Food and Agriculture in Berlin on 16-18 January 2020 and the Agriculture Ministers‘ Conference on 18 January 2020.
They also negotiated participation of Spanish enterprises in the Belagro expo due in Minsk on 2-6 June 2020.
The autonomous province of Catalonia is hosting a number of events to promote political, trade, economic and cultural cooperation between Belarus and Spain on 25-28 September.
Director of the National Center for Marketing at the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Valery Sadokho met with top officials of the state business competitiveness agency of Catalonia in Barcelona on 25 September. Valery Sadokho also held negotiations with the associations of industry, textile, and entrepreneurs of the region. The parties discussed the measures to develop Belarus-Spain economic cooperation, to sign agreements, and to organize mutual business visits.
Pavel Pustovoi, and Marketing and Sales Director of the Belarusian mechanical engineering company Belkommunmash Ekaterina Chistovaya met with the mayor of Lleida to negotiate the possibility of exporting Belarusian electric buses, and Belarusian ecological fuel (chips) to produce electric power and green houses of timber as part of city projects.
The exhibition Belarus-Spain: Friendship Born in Battles. 1936-1945 opened in the Catalonian History Museum on 25 September. The exhibition features the photo documentary materials from the Belarusian State Museum of History of the Great Patriotic War. It is timed to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Belarus' liberation from the German invaders.
Belarus' Ambassador to Spain plans to discuss the ways of strengthening cooperation between universities of the two countries on 27 September.
The increased interest of Belarusian enterprises in the Spanish market, and the desire of Spanish businessmen to establish cooperation with Belarus through such events facilitate the contacts in all areas between the countries.
