MINSK, 26 April (BelTA) – Belarus can set up an enterprise to make equipment for dairy industry in Novosibirsk Oblast, BelTA learned from Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Alla Lomakina during a business trip of the Belarusian government delegation to Russia.
Alla Lomakina said: “Our trade in food with Novosibirsk Oblast is close to $85 million. It is virtually two times as much as in 2022. Our export component in this trade is nearly half. It means that Belarusian products are in demand in Novosibirsk Oblast.”
In addition to trade in staple foods Belarus intends to localize the production of equipment for dairy farms in the region. “The matter of animal husbandry is rather highly prioritized in this region. The Novosibirsk Oblast government pays a lot of attention to the matter while we have rather good experience in this field. Now we intend to discuss the matter of localization of the equipment the Belarusian company OAO Gomelagrokomplekt makes. The enterprise offers a broad range of such equipment. The Novosibirsk Oblast government has a strong interest in organizing joint manufacturing,” the official said.
Alla Lomakina continued by saying that both sides are interested. “It is necessary to calculate the economic side of this project and then we will be ready to penetrate the market of this Russian region. Russia already has about 50 dealerships of our enterprise. It has earned a good reputation. The decision on setting up the joint manufacturing enterprise has not been made yet but we will work on it, including within the framework of this visit,” she shared.
The deputy agriculture and food minister also said that Belarus is interested in importing agricultural raw materials from Novosibirsk Oblast. “We are interested in seeds. We buy rape oilseeds, soya beans, and components for animal feed,” Alla Lomakina noted. “Tomorrow we will visit a fair of Belarusian goods. About nine Belarusian processing industry enterprises will be represented during the fair. Those are our flagships: Babushkina Krynka, Molochny Mir, Kobrin Butter and Cheese Making Factory, and other ones. These are the products that have already earned a good reputation. I think Novosibirsk residents will like them and our export will only grow higher.”
A government delegation led by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko is on a working trip to Russia’s Novosibirsk District, Irkutsk Oblast, and Sverdlovsk Oblast on 26-28 April. Meetings with the governors of the oblasts are scheduled to take place as well as the handover of MTZ tractors to Novosibirsk District and visits to a number of enterprises.
