MINSK, 20 March (BelTA) – The Belarusian government is considering a package of measures to support business in view of the coronavirus pandemic, First Deputy Premier Dmitry Krutoi told journalists on 23 March, BelTA has learned.
The government has collected petitions from business unions. “We are discussing the current situation with all associations and worst-hit companies. The work is in full swing,” Dmitry Krutoi said.
He did not mention any concrete measures. “The list is very long. We are also studying measures taken by European countries, Russia, the USA. Perhaps, we can draw on something from their documents,” Dmitry Krutoi said and stressed that this problem requires a prompt solution.
According to Dmitry Krutoi, it is still early to speak about preliminary estimates of business losses. “Last week we visited enterprises and monitored markets and the state of affairs in small companies. We are currently studying the large amount of analytical data,” he noted.
