MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters will be signed during a visit of a delegation of the China General Administration of Customs to Minsk, BelTA learnt from the press service of the State Customs Committee.
On 8-11 May Belarus will be visited by a delegation of the China General Administration of Customs led by director (minister) Yu Guangzhou. The main goal of the visit is to sign an agreement between the governments of Belarusian and the Chinese government on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters and discuss bilateral cooperation, the press service said.
The draft agreement envisages the possibility to share information for securing a proper application of the customs legislation, calculation and levying of customs duties, taxes, including all the corresponding information regarding the actions that can lead to the violation of the customs legislation. The agreement will help prevent smuggling and administrative customs violations.
Yu Guangzhou is expected to meet with Chairman of the State Customs Committee of Belarus Yuri Senko to discuss bilateral cooperation in combating smuggling of drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors, facilitation of customs procedures and the exchange of experience in the application of the risk management system.
