SAMARKAND, 16 September (BelTA) – Reaching a steadily high level of food security is a key aspect of Belarus-China cooperation, BelTA learned from the Belarus-China joint declaration on establishing all-weather and all-round strategic partnership.
Belarus and China believe it is important to pool efforts in the area of manufacturing and processing of agricultural products and in enhancing the ability to provide population with affordable and quality food. For instance, Belarus and China are going to enable favorable conditions for fair trade in ready-made food as well as trade in material and technical resources, which a modern high-tech agribusiness needs to operate. Belarus and China are ready to enable uninterrupted shipments of food and agricultural resources.
Apart from that, both countries are intent on advancing cooperation in the area of digital development, ready to introduce digital technologies in mutual trade, develop digital commerce, stimulate the creation of national pavilions of Belarusian products at China’s largest digital marketplaces, and encourage the development of electronic business.
Belarus and China welcome the signing of a memorandum of understanding in cooperation in online trade between China’s Commerce Ministry and the Belarusian Economy Ministry. Belarus and China will also assist the international community with realizing China’s global data security initiative.
Apart from that, the joint declaration mentions the establishment of practical cooperation in finance on a market-based and independent foundation and supremacy of the law. The declaration provides for increasing the use of national currencies in trade, investments, and finance. Both countries are intent on maintaining active ties between financial institutions, upgrading the level of financial services, and promoting the development of Belarus-China trade and economic cooperation.
