BEIJING, 28 February (BelTA) - Belarusian Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik held a number of meetings with representatives of Chinese machine-building companies and with Director General of the China National Machinery Industry Corporation Luo Qianyi in China on 26-28 February, BelTA has learned.
The parties considered ways of strengthening bilateral cooperation, attracting Chinese technologies for the modernization of Belarusian industrial enterprises, and setting up joint ventures.
The topic of implementing large investment projects was considered in detail.
The Belarusian-Chinese cooperation is in the spotlight these days. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is in China on a state visit on 28 February - 2 March. The visit continues the long-standing policy to build relations of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation with the People's Republic of China. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and Chinese President Xi Jinping are set to take stock of what has been achieved and to consider ways to maximize the potential of the new level in relations. The focus will be on the development of trade, economic, investment and humanitarian cooperation, the status of joint large-scale projects, political interaction, and response to the most pressing challenges in the current international situation.
