MINSK, 16 November (BelTA) – Turin played host to the Belarusian-Italian business regional forum, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Embassy in Italy.
“The discussions were centered on practical opportunities of doing business in our country and the Belarusian-Italian cooperation and were attended by over 50 representatives of Piedmont major companies, Italian banks and financial institutions,” the diplomatic mission informed.
When in Piedmont the Belarusian delegation held talks with Deputy President of Piedmont Region for Productive Activities Giuseppina De Santis, senior officials of the Association of Small Businesses and Artisans, Secretary General of the Turin Chamber of Commerce Guido Bolatto, President Dario Gallina and members of the Governing Board of the Regional Union of Industrialists. The parties discussed the ways of bolstering ties between Belarus and Piedmont in various areas and promoting economic cooperation between large and small enterprises. The parties welcomed the mutual interest and imporved environment for intensifying bilateral cooperation.
Meetings were held with Italian businessmen and financial experts as part of the business matchmaking session.
The event was organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Italy in cooperation with the Union of Industrialists of Piedmont. The Belarusian delegation comprised Ambassador Alexander Guryanov, business representatives, officials and consulting companies and was led by Deputy Economy Minister Pavel Utyupin.
Piedmont is one of Italy’s largest regions, second biggest in GDP and exports and makes it to the top five economically developed regions of Italy with the per capita GDP of over €30,000. Piedmont is home to world giants such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and Alenia Aeronautica.
