MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) - After a short hiatus, Belarus and Venezuela have resumed joint residential construction projects, BelTA learned form the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Caracas.
"In Caracas, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro took part in a solemn ceremony to commission two new houses for 120 apartments built by Belarusian companies," the embassy said. "The construction was carried out within the framework of the national program ‘Great Mission Housing Venezuela’ and in accordance with the agreements between the leaders of the two countries."
The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Venezuela Andrei Molchan. Belarus is building a residential complex in the prestigious Fuerte Tiuna district of Caracas in line with a project that provides for the construction of 3,000 apartments and social infrastructure.
All in all, twenty houses for 912 apartments and a kindergarten have already been commissioned. The embassy noted that the Venezuelan government shows a keen interest in continuing this project together with Belarusian partners on a mutually beneficial basis.
