MINSK, 25 September (BelTA) – A total of 44,900 tonnes of buckwheat has been threshed in Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 25 September, some 7,633,500 tonnes of grain was cropped in Belarus. This included 6,594,500 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and 1,039,400 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in all the oblasts of the country, with 28,400 hectares of land already cleared. Some 218,200 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 76.8 centners per hectare.
Some 12,288,900 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 44,900 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 14.6 centners per hectare) and 18,800 tonnes of millet (yields reach 19.3 centners per hectare) were threshed.
The flax straw harvest exceeded 111,900 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 86% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers have harvested some 372,300 tonnes of potatoes. The yields average 351.6 centners per hectare.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 1,055,200 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields reaching up to 450.9 centners per hectare.
