MINSK, 11 September (BelTA) – Belarus has cropped 24,400 tonnes of buckwheat so far, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry.
As of 11 September, some 7,120,800 tonnes of grain, including rapeseed, was cropped in the country.
This included 6,137,100 tonnes of grain and leguminous crops and over 983,700 tonnes of rapeseed.
Harvesting of corn for grain is underway in Brest Oblast, Grodno Oblast, Minsk Oblast and Gomel Oblast, with 2,670 hectares of land already cleared. Some 19,400 tonnes of grain was threshed, with the yields averaging 72.8 centners per hectare.
Some 5,476,100 tonnes of corn for silage were cropped so far.
In addition to that, 24,400 tonnes of buckwheat (yields are 15.2 centners per hectare) and 12,700 tonnes of millet (yields are 20.1 centners per hectare) were threshed.
The flax straw harvest reached 84,700 tonnes.
Cereal and legume straws were harvested from 76.7% of the area.
Belarusian agricultural workers are harvesting potatoes. Some 129,300 tonnes of potatoes were removed from fields.
Sugar beet harvesting is underway in Belarus. Some 300,700 tonnes of sugar beet were removed, with the yields averaging 437.5 centners per hectare.
