Belarus-Azerbaijan agenda described as packed, multifaceted

Belarus-Azerbaijan agenda described as packed, multifaceted

MINSK, 6 June (BelTA) - Trade and economic cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan has been gaining momentum, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Ali Ahmadov of Azerbaijan in Minsk on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

"Belarus and Azerbaijan are connected by the strongest, brotherly ties. Our friendship has stood the test of time. In the most difficult periods we were always close to each other, helped each other, always found solutions to any issues. Constructive and warm relations have been established between the officials of all levels. We see such relations in virtually all avenues  of interaction: from government bodies to humanitarian ties. It is very important that all these years Belarus and Azerbaijan have never succumbed to any momentary political trends. We appreciate this very much in our relations with our Azerbaijani partners,” Roman Golovchenko said.

He noted that the bilateral agenda is very rich and multifaceted."Following the state visit of the Belarusian president to Azerbaijan, the heads of state set very serious tasks for the governments. We are committed to fulfilling these tasks, but a lot will depend on the planning of this work, responsibility and accuracy of actions of the executors, the people vested with the responsibility of implementing the measures,” the prime minister noted.

"I am pleased to note that trade and economic cooperation has picked up steam this year. This is evidenced by the statistics and new commodity items in the list of mutual supplies. We see a real interest of our colleagues from Azerbaijan to implement joint projects,” the Belarusian head of government stressed.

Preparations are underway for the visit of the prime minister of Azerbaijan to Belarus, which is scheduled for September this year, Roman Golovchenko added.
