Belarus, Austria to discuss joint projects in pulp and paper industry

MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Austria will discuss the implementation of joint projects in the pulp and paper industry, BelTA learnt from the press service of Bellesbumprom Concern.

“The implementation of joint projects by companies of Bellesbumprom Concern and Austria’s leading pulp and paper companies will be considered in Vienna on 8 August. Chairman of Bellesbumprom Concern Yuri Nazarov and Director General of Belorusskiye Oboi Holding Company Dmitry Lizura are expected to meet with heads of Austrian companies that specialize in the production of cellulose pulp and paper products,” the press service noted.

According to Bellesbumprom Concern, the parties plan to talk over cooperation of companies with the subsidiary of Dobrush Paper Factory of OAO Belorusskiye Oboi Management Holding Company where a plant is being built to produce coated and uncoated board with the total capacity of 200,000 tonnes per year. “The talks will highlight the implementation of joint projects aimed at the development of cooperation ties and attraction of investment in production, and also the expansion of sales networks for new products,” Bellesbumprom stressed.

The program of the visit will include tours around companies with a view to getting familiar with their operation and experience. At present Bellesbumprom Concern comprises 11 pulp and paper companies which produce more than 75% of the total board and paper products in the country.
