Belarus attends sessions of Belt and Road Forum leaders' roundtable

HOTAN, 27 April (BelTA) – Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration, chairman of the Belarusian part of the Belarus-China Intergovernmental Committee on Cooperation Nikolai Snopkov took part in the sessions of the leaders’ roundtable at the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation as a representative of the Belarusian president, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in China.

Attending the event was also Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy.

The Belt and Road Forum envisaged a number of events of different format in the Chinese capital. The forum was aimed at strengthening cooperation between all the states taking part in the initiative.

The high-level meeting was held with the participation of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko who visited Beijing and held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The parties agreed to continue building up cooperation. During the forum Aleksandr Lukashenko called for coordination of action along the Belt and Road route to maximize assistance for the expansion of economic cooperation and removal of the existing barriers.
