MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian mechanical engineering company Amkodor plans to expand cooperation with Egypt and consider localization opportunities, BelTA learned from the press service of the company.
Cairo played host to meetings with Egyptian organizations and companies. Delegates of the Belarusian company visited the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, the Egyptian Company for Agricultural and Rural Development, the Arab Organization for Industrialization, the Egyptian Tank Plant (Factory 200), and also a group of private organizations. The parties discussed the possibility of supplying road-building and agricultural equipment to Egypt. The Egyptian party highly appreciated the Amkodor capacity and expressed the desire to localize the production of spare parts and components at local enterprises. The parties expressed their readiness to work together to supply the company’s products.
Agreements were reached with representatives of private companies on a visit to Amkodor in February for further negotiations, a familiarization tour around the enterprises affiliated to the company, and also the discussion of supplies of machinery produced in Belarus.
The visit was organized with the support and assistance of the Belarusian embassy in Egypt.
This year Amkodor marked its 96th anniversary. It comprises 30 legal entities, 22 plants producing more than 6,500 marketable products, including more than 135 models and modifications of special and agricultural machinery.
